The Bird Box

The Bird Box is a community-led family centre for children aged 0-4 and their grown-ups.

We’re here to support and nurture families to Play, Connect and Grow.

    Baby & Toddler Classes

    Using a Montessori approach, you can expect a calm, considered and nurturing environment to explore with your little one/s.

    NEST - For mums with pre-crawling babies

    HATCHLINGS - Crawlers to 2 years

    FLEDGLINGS - 2 years to preschoolers

    Toddler Cafe

    Our Toddler Cafe is open every Friday from 9:00am - 1:30pm during term time.

    We serve affordable and healthy vegan food for children and their grown-ups.

    FREE Breakfast for Toddlers and Pay-What-You-Can lunch for kids and their grown ups.

    Community Garden

    Our garden was co-designed to meet the needs of local families with young children.

    The front garden is a safe, multi-sensory woodland garden for babies, toddlers and their families to explore and learn at their own pace. They can smell, touch and taste what the garden provides, as well as listen to and see the nature around them.

    The back garden is a vibrant community space for growing food, learning, connecting and supporting the health and wellbeing of our families.

    Our community garden operates on a closed-loop system, meaning nothing leaves our gates as waste. By growing food for our café and returning all plant trimmings and compost straight back into the soil, we nourish our crops and community without creating off-site carbon emissions.

    Community Programmes

    In addition to our core programme for families, we regularly partner with external organisations to create fully funded community projects and day events.
